El Bulli 1846
On June 30 2011, EL BULLI Restaurant closed its doors definitively when it was at the top of the gastronomic universe: 3 Michelin stars since 1997, 3 Repsol suns, 5 times the best restaurant in the world by The Restaurant Magazine, and a long etc. El Bulli was closed with the promise of reopening in 2014 with a new project in which it would not be possible to make reservations or go to eat. But bureaucracy, detractors and delays in the works meant that it was not until the summer of 2023 that "the world's first restaurant-turned-museum" finally opened its doors.
A visit to EL BULLI 1846 is like nothing you have ever experienced before, in fact, it is certainly nothing you’d expect. El Bulli 1846 is much more than a museum. It is located here next door, just over 7km away, in Cala Montjoi , occupying the same space in which it has always been. The experience is divided into 3 spaces: the exterior, the restaurant room with the kitchen and finally an interdisciplinary space. Throughout this journey of just over 2 hours we will delve into the history of gastronomy, how emotions influence us in food, we will discover all the details of how El Bulli became El Bulli , we will sit at a “real” table and experience what it was like to taste a menu. We will wander around the kitchen among the dishes that have been recreated there, we will be amazed by the number of accreditations, publications, jackets that Ferran Adrià had, as well as the number of influences that helped to evolve and transform gastronomy. Finally we will discover that El Bulli has not gone away, that what it has done is grow and that what is yet to come is much more and much better and that it surely escapes the understanding of ordinary mortals.
Starting next May 1st 2024, elBulli1846 reopens its doors again, making it a unique opportunity to complement your stay at the Vistabella with a visit that will not leave you indifferent. Access is very easy and you can get there by car or with the bus and the touristic train alternatives they offer. Tickets are now available on their website.
