Acústica Festival in Figueres
Lots of towns and villages of the Empordà have been celebrating their open air summer festival: Cap-Roig, Peralada, Roses… The capital of the Alt Empordà, Figueres, cannot be left behind and at the beginnings of September will celebrate its own music festival, the Acústica.
From Thursday 1st of September until Sunday 4th of September Figueres will host the music festival “Acústica”, an event that has achieved a good balance between small and big format concerts, from the local to the international scene. It is, in essence, an urban festival that has its music, leisure and gastronomy spaces spread all around the city centre of Figueres.
Acústica has slowly become a leading festival on the Catalan scene for professionals, artists and festival goers. It has bet on free concerts with important musicians as Adrià Puntí, Sidonie and Oques Grasses, which will play at Plaça Catalunya, Macaco, Kiko Veneno and Macedònia, which will play at la Rambla, and Joana Serrat,who will play at Plaça Josep Pla. Furthermore on Friday 2nd of September there will be a special concert to celebrate the 15 years of the Acústica with an epic get-together of the most important Catalan music groups: Sopa de Cabra, Els Catarres, Albert Pla, Quimi Portet, Mishima, Elefantes, Joan Dausà, Lluís Gavaldà, Mazoni, Sanjosex, Dolo Beltran and Ernest Crusats.
At the same time, the festival offers a gastronomic section with food trucks, the popular foodie phenomenon. From the hand of great cooks you will enjoy products as Argentinean meat, sandwiches and tapas of author, crêpes, authentic American hot dogs or homemade burguers served with a lot of imagination.
The Acústica also stands out because of its versatility. So it will foster a show with the clowns Albert Pla and Tortell Poltrona, two DJ sessions and a festival made for kids, the Acustiqueta, where there will be a performance of the Club Super 3 and the Di-versiones orchestra. On the other hand there is a section dedicated to the artists and artisans, the Acústica Market, an exhibition of crafts made from scratch with high quality materials as clothes, décor objects, paintings, jewels, etc. It is also remarkable that the Acústica will host the semifinals of the most important demo contest in Catalonia, the Sona9.As you can see, this festival comes with plenty of activities!
