Costa Brava Underwater

For years, the Costa Brava has been a meeting point for enthusiasts of scuba diving, a sport increasingly known and more accessible that gives us the opportunity to observe our planet from another point of view. In the area of Roses and its surroundings there are more than 30 dive sites for all levels and a handful of diving centers to help you discover them, a dip?

The coast of Cap de Creus has a huge variety of marine fauna, a privileged area declared Natural Park in 1998 that hides a true natural wealth. Whether the day is calm or the Tramuntana blows, you can enjoy an immersion in a unique settlement. The most inexperienced can begin by doing a discover scuba diving immersion with an instructor, near the beach, to become familiar with the equipment and the environment and experience for the first time the feeling of having the immensity of the sea above you. Those who already have some certification will have the opportunity to discover some of the most beautiful dives of the Costa Brava, of which we would like to highlight two: "El Gat" and "El Bau del Cap Trencat". The first is located on the Cap Norfeu peninsula, it is a rock formation that protrudes from the sea and that hides in its depths a treasure of great natural and animal value. The second one is located about 200 meters from the coast very close to the Cala Montjoi and offers a very diverse landscape of coralliferous and rocky bottoms.

Very close to Roses, in l’Estartit, we find the Marine Reserve of the Medas Islands, an archipelago formed by 7 islets with a seabed of exceptional value, with a great diversity of flora and fauna in which to highlight especially the common manta ray and the red coral. The dives in this area are very controlled to preserve the area and can only be done with authorization and the presence of a guide, but it is undoubtedly an experience that cannot be missed.
