Terra de Trobadors is a medieval festival that started in 1990 in the village of Castelló d’Empúries (Alt Empordà) in Catalonia. It is intended to revive, with the highest allegiance and historical accuracy its medieval splendor when the village was the capital of the Empúries County. This festival counts with the participation of all its neighbors, cultural institutions and hired groups. During the festival musical and theater performances, fighting knights, a popular medieval market, lectures and exhibitions on medieval themes are held. Each year it has a different theme, this year’s chosen theme is “the Jewish culture in the Middle Ages”, which aims to discover the cultural and historical significance of medieval Judaism.
